Hello all. It has been quite a while sense I was last on here. As most of you know I traded my G for a GTO.

And 5 months later I still don't regret it. There are a few things I miss about the G. Frist off is the SEXY good looks. Second it the dual zone climate controls. And the sound of the VQ throught the Fast Intentions exh.

But I don't miss the lack of head room or power. And the sound of an LS2 motors is sex to the ears under WOT.

And the b**** of it is, I get the same MPG in the GTO (which is 400 hp and 6.0L) as I did in the G.

Nice to see you back.

How is VW? You still work there?

Did you get any mods done on the new lady?

Thanks ZOZO.

Still at VW. Became a VW Master Tech a few months back offically. I had completed it back in 06 but somehow VW overlooked it until a few months ago. But the car industry has been in a serious slump. So work is down. But we are making it.

The GTO has had a few mods. First up was exh. Eliminated the resonators and replaced the stock mufflers with some Flowmaster 40's. Second up was a Diablo tuner. And the last one is an over the radiator cold air intake. Up next is long tube headers and a proper dyno tune session.

Wow sounds like it is all planned out. Congrats. Master Tech certificate is good. Car industry should be back soon to 100%. We making parts for all big 3 plus few jap carmakers and few Euro carsbeside the commercial division. Man we are going nuts. I've been doing 60 hours a week for quite awhile. So it should be back soon.

You should load an audio clip up. Would love to hear the beast.

I will see what I can do about an audio clip. I need to wash her before I do anything. And this weekend is looking good for that.

Hey man,

Props on the credentials man. :dblthumb:
Hopefully work will pick up in your neck of the woods, are numbers are finally getting back on track hopefully it heads south.

Straight line performance and aggressive Grand Prix esque front end are what I really like about the new goat. I do like Pontiacs' outlook on retro to the core, though. The suspension is simple, but efficient. I like simple, I really liked the older Pontiacs though and America really needed a Holden.

I second the smokey burnout- do what it is good at.
I think that might actually top an old Q45 with some really cheap tires.

your profile says you still have a G. thats good. keep it in your heart. how do you feel about the GTO looks? every GTO or hardcore pontiac fan I know hates the GTO. I don't think it looks bad, but overlooking the visuals, its a cool car performance wise. That matters more to me.

I looked at the G8 GXP, but ended up with a G37 sedan. If Pontiac was still around, I'd probably have one. But I love my G sedan! They made them closer to the coupe for this generation.

Welcome back

One thing about NICO is we are an enthusiasts site which mean we like more than just Nissan/Infiniti. I like the GTO but prefer the Monaro nose and tail.

the new newer model GTO is a souped up Grand Prix. ick. I have owned two Camaro's in my short life and I love the new body style, but of all the retro cars that have been re-released, i love the Challenger most. very sexy.

that is purely based on looks, not performance/price

I love the car. It handles great. It has an IRS suspension like the G. So it is a corner monster as well as a straight line monster.

Timmy
As for it being a souped up Grand Prix. Not a chane. It is a Holden Monaro with a Pontiac front and rear bumpers. Hell they came further in a boat then the G's did.

Steve, thanks. You know how hard it is and how long it takes to get to that level.

SVT. You know exactly what I mean. Tell me there isn't just a little part of you that still wants to take out a Mustang and feel the torque.

As far as the sound clip and smokie burn out. I will get to it this weekend. I need to wash her up first. Can't let you guys see her dirty.

G. The GTO and LS boards are pretty good. Not as mature as here. There is some flaming for some nub questions. But I don't ask them. I still read and research, then ask if it is not there.

(but, scared I might wet myself and have to buy it). :ohno:
Drove several new/used/friend's GTO's and liked them alot.
Can't blame you for jumping on one!!

Yeap Ford is going to be hard to beat. They got out of there muscle car only can do straight line era. These GT's got the full package. I can even imagine what the SVT or GT500 can do over these. If they would change the interior to a modern instead of retro that would be even better. But they sell great not sure if they would change anything on it.

I agree! If they were to update the interior and get away from that retro crap I would seriously consider one!!
I like the front end a 'little' better than before, and the rear end even less now. :frown:
There's just no comparison between the look of a G35/G37 to the retro stangs...sad for Ford.

yeap agree. Love the performance tho. I can leave with the exterior look. However the interior kills it for me.

Yeah, that 410+ HP is calling me!!!! :ohno:
Having a 69 Mach, I like what resembles that (especially the 96-98 SVT's) - in my mind anyway. Looking at the dash.
Was never a fan of the earlier mustang interiors and that's what they went to with the retro.
Yes, I would deal with the exterior (BLACK), but the interior.. :tisk:
