Dropped a screw, where did it go?

Working on a 1998 3.3, I was replacing the valve cover gasket on the drivers side and dropped a screw and grommet next to the distributor. I heard it fall quite a ways but it didn't come out he bottom. I stuck a magnet down behind the distributor about a foot, but didn't come up with anything. I found a replacement screw, so I don't need the one that's lost. My biggest fear is that it may have gotten into the timing belt compartment and may cause future problems. Does anyone know if there is an opening on the backside of the rear timing cover that the screw could have fallen into?
