How do I safely remove the drop down lid/door that is located directly under the radio in my 2008 Altima 2.5SL? It's a "push" lid that opens to reveal a small storage space. I'm trying to take the door off temporarily and will need to be put back on. Thanks!!

Welcome to NiCO! I'm not sure how to answer your question, but check back later on today and I'll try to get someone in here to help you. Is your Altima a sedan or coupe? Have you been happy with it so far? We love to hear feedback about people's cars, so feel free to share!

The lid doesn't come off easily by itself. You need to remove the whole compartment, and then the lid may come off (I never looked that closely at mine when it was removed). Unfortunately, you will need to remove the entire stereo to get the bin out. There is a write-up here on removing the stereo:

It used to have pictures, but those links have since been broken. I'll see if I can get someone to fix the images. Once the stereo is out, the bin should pop out (but will take a little bit of force). Note that there is a power outlet in there that will need to be disconnected before the bin can be completely freed from the car.
