Post

In September of 2009, I purchased a used 2008 Maxima 3.5 SE that had some damage repaired from going off the pavement. The damage seems superficial. It had a bent wheel and needed an alignment. The bumper has a custom grill. The bumper may or may not have been touched-up and the styro/metal bumper foundation/absorber do not seem at all damaged. One of the plastic "skirts" behind and to the right (P/S) of the lower grille was out of place, which I pushed back, outboard of the lower grille.

I have noticed that the Bumper Cover and Grille Assembly are drooping about a half inch low, which is evident at the gap below the front of the hood and headlights. All other seams/gaps are perfect throughout the car.

1) Is there supposed to be any support bolting the Outer Grille/Bumper Cover to the Center Radiator Support?2) What actually is supposed to bear the weight of this assembly?3) What part of the Bumper Assembly or the Radiator Lower Cover, etc., might be damaged or missing? 4)What would be the likely cause/repair to remedy this?

Thanks.
