I picked up some really cheap DRL's and was wondering if anyone has tried wiring some up?

They pretty much just come with the bare wires hanging off the back.

I was considering piggy backing them off the fog lights, but would rather have them on as soon as the ignition is cranked.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated as usual.

thanks.

you gotta go right to the fuse box. the F.B. get power as soon as the "key" is turned.

but, it is a great idea to use that fuse adapter. i simply strip a wire long enough, and take out the cigarette lighter(or other accessory) fuse and slip/wedge the stripped wire into the contact, and then push the fuse back into its respective slot (trapping the wire).

is this the right way to do it? not really lol - but it has worked without fail for me on every car and this idea has gathered well over 300,000miles combined on all my cars.

here an an image of my method. it is in fact a common practice, but its something professional installers will cringe at lol.

How & where did you tap the wiring into? I tried several times to get my DRL module to work with no luck. My goal was to have the low beams kick on when the ignition is turned on.

I would like more info as well, i am waiting for less inclement weather. Also have to figure how im going to mount the Lights, Its not going to work out the way i was thinking it would.

I was going to have them inset on both sides of the bottom 3 slots but the lip on the bottom isnt deep enough and the top, you would be able to see my mount screws, i will think about it more while im waiting on a warm day to take the bumper off again.

you cant do it on this car, by simply hooking up to the fuse box.

you need a whole relay/fuse/switch kit. or you need to completely rewire the whole way your headlights operate.

A N Y W A Y, ha.

SO, i had all the stuff but was waiting for that fuse do-hicky to come in the mail. + time and weather, tornados possible for tonight. :ohno:
I haven't mounted these yet, but put them in place and ran some temp power to see
what it was going to look like.

the lights will set back further than what i have them placed right now and will probably be brighter, but what do you think?

I also considered getting another set of these and filling in the 3rd slot, but haven't made up my mind yet.

...to be honest, it doesn't look "OEM". It looks like you purchase some cheap LED lamps from ebay and installed in your garage.

But you Rogue's black front grill, side mirrors and headlights looks amazing. I don't think you need some extra add-on lights.
