Canadian Versas have daytime running lights. This is how to remove it.

Locate the DRL fuse (red fuse seen below)

Move it to the right where there is no circuit

Done. This is the result

Ignition on, handbrake released. No DRL

Interior lights on

Headlights on

Highbeams on

This is an easy mod, and best of all, no warning lights on the dash. This is handy for owners who want to install aftermarket HID kits and do not want it on everytime the hand brake is released.

On a side, note, this is a bike. It fits

Just don't get pulled over. DRLs are required on Canaidan vehicles.

I thank you for posting this diy. I always run my lights when I drive have my CDL and all. I found out that for US Versa's we have DRL if we put the 10A fuse in the fuse block. thanks again for the write up.

As soon as I finished reading the OP I was asking myself if this was the case. Thanks!

Kind of funny we each want what the other has (or doesn't have in this case).

Lol. That is true, we always want what we do not have.I like the DRL. Nice little feature! PLus only the front lights come on as part of the DRL. In my old car the front and back came on with the DRL feature.

imo DRLs should be mandatory as a safety regulation... particularly in regions further away from the equator where ambient light is relatively low.

But unforutnately we're in the United States... where the US NHTSA has some of the most absurd light regulations.

Signaling lights may = brake lights. Taller vehicles may have the same headlight point angles, to name a few...

I like when I put on the parking lights and the front and back come on. But that is merely preference, no other real reason.

I have an 09 V S with power package. I put a 10A fuse in there (slot is labeled DTRL), but it did not turn on DRLs. When you look in that slot and the adjacent ones, there doesn't appear to be any circuits in there.

Did they remove something between the 08 and 09 models.John

I put a fuse in the DRL on my SL and nothing came on. I wired my own DRLs anyways.

Yep, that's LED.

I just took apart that little plastic housing around those fuses. It just unclips from the bracket, then the top unclips from the bottom. there definitely is NO wire going to that spot that is in the picture above.

If anyone who has an 08 wants to take that housing apart and see what color wire is in there at that spot, we may be able to find another way to get DRLs.

C'mon Alsonso, don't you want to take apart the plastic housing and tell us what color wire runs to that circuit?

Anyone with an 08?

PLease

I have a 07 and the DTRL fuse location is unconnected.
