I'd like to add Daytime Running Lights to my 2011 M37. Who has done this? Can you post pictures?

Is it possible to add the Canadian DRL (factory setup) on a US model?

I saw a Phillips kit (Philips 12824WLEDX1) on a M35 that look great, but the M37 under-grill-opening is curved so I'm not sure how good these lights would fit/look.

I have heard of people converting their parking light to a DRL.

In my opinion it's tough to do DRL LED strips aftermarket without it looking added on. I'm going to put these LED bulbs into my foglamp housings and wire them to the ignition so they come on when the engine is running.

I suppose it is not possible to install the factory DTRL setup as if the car was a Canadian model. Meaning, are all the components, wiring, etc., already installed on the US models - just some relay or programming missing to get it working? Or is it a totally different setup between US (without DRL) and Canadian (with DTRL) cars?

Hey guys...new here. Just bought a CPO 2012 M37x. I bought the Philips DRL8's and installed them last weekend. Also bought the factory rear spoiler from my dealer for $275 (negotiated that price into the deal) and installed it myself. I saw the "sticky" and it's spot on. The DRLs look fantastic and super bright. Took me about 2 hours to do it. I'll post pics when I can figure out how:-) Also installed custom body side molding from www.sportwing.com I live in Northern VA

This is my old M but I did the same thing on my new one. In this pic I wired a relay to the parking lights so that the fogs were on whenever the parking lights were on. But on my new M I wired an independent switch to the "blower" fuse in the driver kick panel. So they can be on whenever the ignition is switched to on, or turned off whenever I want.

I also tried the Phillips DRLs and they were amazing but I felt like they cheapened the overall look of the car.

Possibility of a step by step write up for the fog light mod? I did it to my old IS300, where i had to pull a relay, bend one of the plugs, and ground the relay. Roughly the same?

I actually had to tap directly off of the fuse in the fusebox. I couldn't find which wire it was to tap directly into the wire and there's no fuses or relays that can be tapped for ignition power under the hood. At least none that I could find.

Just seeing the car taken apart like that in the link made me nervous. I don't think I could do it! It looks amazing though!I don't understand why they can't just install DRL in our vehicles in the first place.
