Driving without my a retaining ring.. is that ok?

So while I was trying to change my brakes out, I ended up having to put everything back together to take it to a shop since I cant get my caliper hangers off.

BUT! This is my current problem, while I put everything back together I forgot to put back in the retaining ring. Is it ok to drive with it w/o this piece? Its going to be raining here in socal, so ill prob switch from RWD to AWD (auto) mode..

what retaining ring are you talking about? are you talking about the snap ring on the CV axle inside the hub? sounds like a pretty big problem to me, and you're stupid for driving without it. the axle is not likely to fall out of the hub, but that only makes the scenario slightly less stupid.

I wouldn't chance it. Just find a friend with AAA and have them tow you to the shop.

No worries everyone, after I posted this I decided to just go back out and snap the ring back on. Took me like 7min so it wasnt a big deal.. Now everything is a-ok!
