Time for my second post...

Being the intelligent member of society that I am, I know that the most important component to any race setup is the driver him/herself. That being said, is there any sort of resource or literature about the subject of performance driving? Beyond practice, I haven't heard of any ways to learn driving technique. If anyone has any websites, book titles, etc. I'd love to learn. Consequentially, once I have found myself some good material, I'll be sure to share with the rest of us. I feel it'd be terrible to have a well-tuned 240sx and drive it like an old man (as I do now. Think '88 Cadillac, my previous car). Thanks guys.

Im sure you know you cant read and book and be able to drive. there is a drift bible around here. Find a nice dirt road (if you dont care about paint) nice and smooth of course and have at it. Set up cones, do whatever you want.

My fav. is doing circles around light poles in parking lots, round and round, like a constant drift I guess? You really get the points of where your car grips and slips.

Practice practice practice, like you said.

there are countless books on driving technique, from F1 to Drift. search http://www.amazon.com

if you want to learn good racing technique , and have some $$$ to spare, i recommend you take driving school (i.e. http://www.skipbarber.com), and go to local track days. public streets are not the safest places to push yourself and your car to the limit.

if you're intersted in drifting, watch this video http://www.zigzagasia.com/Default.asp?ID=25

there are also many websites dedicated to drifting, like this one http://www.driftsession.com/technique.htm

to start with you can try to master the "heel-toe"http://www.ferrariclub.com/faq/heeltoe.html

- good luck

=) Awesome reply, nomuken. Lots of helpful links, and I suppose I just need to find an empty parking lot...
