My hood flew off into my windshield and ****ed my **** up.Had to drive from concord to antioch with this windshield that could've shattered anytime.Made it home 1hour later.Home at same and my baby gonna get fixed soon. =( I HOPE!!!See what happens when you dont replace a not hooked hood.

Ouch! You mean you were driving around without a secure hood latch?

And you are thinking about prototyping headers?

Might have to adjust your priorities just a little, don't you think?

No let me refrase (cant spell) that.My hood had a dent on it and it would latch. But then it got worse and i dorve like past 100mph on highway,by the way thank god it happened when my friend was behind me.I pulled over turned into a street and we drove to his house. My hoods at his house right now.The hood needed to be replaced but you know how humans think maybe it'll be fine. And thats the results now i'll have to do both. The headers im still researching though for now until i find the right information and needed information. But really this sucked just happy it happened with no cars around and someone there.

But yeah i'll keep it posted on the headers.

Perfect time to ponder the future......sink more into it or just get a gas sipping newer honda/toyota that will need less mechanical attention and cash to get you to and from community college?????

You could always trade for a 96Q, they dont go fast enough to rip the hood from the hinges!

Oh well, you needed a new hood anyway!!! Needing a new windshield is a blessing in disguise....nothing like fresh new glass free of scratches, chips, and sand damage, it is quite breathtaking to experience your first drive after installing a brand new windshield!!!!

The previous owner replace the passenger and windshield i didn't.My firend said a real windshield isn't suppose to shatter like that.True?

I was hoping to get the real nissan windshield but we'll see.I still need a rear drive side window so i can tint my windows. It has a spark plug carving.I just hope once i replace the hood and windshield nothing else goes bad.KNOCK ON WOOD.

that really sucks.. in november i bought my q45 in pleasant hill and it had a bad latch (somebody backed into the car) and i had to drive home with a rinky dink bungee cord holding the hood down. i drove all the way from pleasant hill to antioch with it, and i just got over the the bridge by wilbur ave on 160 and my hood flew up, but everything was ok, so i pushed it back down and went along, and then i went further down 160 and it did it again but it spiderwebbed my whole windsheild and i had to get my hood replaced. (not to mention it was raining like a mofo)

but i got my hood replaced and now the lines don't match up. theres pressure points on the hood. i don't know why it does that but i plan on getting it fixed...

but if you plan on fixing your hood yourself (as did i) make sure the hood shuts correctly before putting the struts in.

My windshield has some very slight distortion on the drivers side due to running the wipers on a dry surface by the PO.....

The other night I took the old gal up to 130mph.........

This thread has my head spinning with ideas to rectify my etched glass syndrome!!

Check out StarPD's extensive posts on auto glass. I guess its too late now, but the moral of the story is that you should spend extra for the good stuff.

Glad to hear you weren't injured.

Well it's pretty good quality if you ask me.OEM specs some what with the bronze tint.I think it came out to like 275 all together I forgot but hey a windshield is a windshield lol.I get you point though.Trust me one second the street the next the hood and windshield smashed luckily I turned into a street and my friend was near.
