I prefer to think of it as "If it ain't broke...satown210 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 14, 2018 7:42 pmI have a 2018 Q70 LUX as a loaner while my M37 gets it's folding mirrors fixed and the squealing power column addressed.
Wow, Infiniti has let the car get long in the tooth. It's the same car! There are a few minor updates. The infotainment has the same basic controls but a newer interface. Nothing I saw that I wished I had. Except the bluetooth seems to work with iphone. The microphone has moved to a separate unit on it's own closer to the visor.
I do like the tail lights and head lights. They are a nice refresh. The LED headlights are awesome! They make our HIDs look like candles. The highbeams are great! I find my highbeams to be pretty inadequate even with new bulbs.
When did the soft close trunk happen? I wonder if I have it and it is broke. I have to give my trunk a good slam to get it to close. My accord I could gently click it closed.
If you have a good running M, don't worry about what you might be missing on the new ones. Not much. It's the same car.

Actually, my 2009 M35 has more kit than is even available in the Q70 and has lots of great perks that were dropped since the silly name changes. The Q70 is smaller than the 2007-2010 Ms, has the same sound system since 2006, less comfy seats, hard headrests that don't tilt, and has a body that looks like any other sedan. The only thing that stands out is the aggressive front end and tiger's eye headlamps. Not enough for me to buy one cus it's not really an upgrade. I'm hoping that in 2020 or 2021, the Q70 will be completely redesigned, but it's possible they may switch to a CVT gearbox or VCT engine (at worst - both!) in which case, I'm driving my last Infiniti already.
With the partnership of Mercedes, I would love to see a turbo diesel Q70 similar to Jaguar's D engines. I'd love to drive a big comfy sedan and still get nearly 40 mpg on the motorway.
