My last two cars were 6MT. I love the feel of a manual! I'm planning on getting an A/C next month. My problem is that I will be traveling all over the U.S. including the Rockies with this car. I've never driven a manual in the mountains or snow, and I was wondering how difficult it is. Should I get a CVT or a 6MT? Any advice would be great!

Unless you are driving over jagged rocks the mountains shouldnt change your driving style.

Go for the 6mt.

2nd gear takeoff in the snow FTW. show me a CVT that move the ratio up when it starts to slip so its putting out less torque... *shrug*

I pull out in 2nd gear in the snow and the Alti does just fine, but definitely the 6MT becaue it gives you more control of car and you can use 1st gear as an engine break instead being on the break pedal which can lead to skids

I find the 6MT to be amazing in the snow, as alot of people have mentioned take off from 2nd gear an never have a problem.
