drivetrain problem....i think

95 ka24de stock drivetrain. Recently hit a patch of ice and did a little drift and pull out of it nicely but something popped in the rear and now it'll "stall" and pick back up..almost the feeling of running out of gas....that jerking motion...and it'll do it more first starting off...starting in 2nd helps but it's completely random when it does it...I think its the diff. any ideas before i buy a new diff would be very appreciated.

If you have no idea (and it looks like you don't) don't just buy a diff head to the garage...

Put it up on jack stands and rotate the wheels. Then put in neutral and have someone help you rotate both wheels in the same direction. Get a feel for anything binding or major sloppiness.
