OK, we got the motor and trans mounted. I'm at the point of bolting the driveshaft back up; I go to put the yoke (I'm assuming this is the yoke, it's a cylinder that slides into the RB20 trans and has a thing on the other end with 3 holes to bolt up to the driveshaft) back into the trans, and it hits this thin-walled metal cylinder that comes off the back of the trans, so the yoke won't slide in all the way. Am I missing a part? This metal cylinder doesn't look like it's doing much, should I cut it off so the yoke will go all the way in? Someone, please share your experience with me :)

cut it off. if the 240 was originally a 5 speed, the yoke will work.

You can cut the sleeve/cylinder/cover (whatever you want to call it... I figured it was a dust cover). I just trimmed mine back until I had adequate clearance.

I love seeing this type of post! Not the fact that there are problems, but it means we have some more RB's about to hit the streets!

Thanks guys. This was really tripping me out because I thought I remember pulling a yoke out of the back of the RB20 trans when I first started stripping the front clip, and was thinking I needed it; I've never heard of anyone having to trim a shield off the back of their trans for this swap, but I guess it's a common thing :)
