I don't usually complain like this.but, I'm swapping a ka24de into my s13 and I had most of the stuff done. But the driveshaft won't fit in there. its like 1/8 too long. I was told that it would fit, but it doesn't, and I'm moving to texas on friday. So if I can't get it to fit, then either I:

1) ride down with mummy and my fiancee and I get by without a car. would it really be so bad to not have to worry about parking, insurance, gas, maintenance? wouldn't law school be easier without the constant distractions of autocrosses and etc?

2) take the brand new falken azenis I just had mounted on my wheels, pay to have them taken off those wheels, and put on my brother's mustang, get it inspected, and take his 90 mustang lx 4 cylinder which doesn't run very well, has mold on the interior, etc, to texas with me. Needless to say I don't think I'd drive it too much, but would it be nice to have a car if I needed it??

or, if anyone has any suggestions for the driveshaft, maybe I can get my car running.

the only differences i know of in drive shafts for the S13 are ABS and transmission type. if you tell us what the car has and what type of drive shaft you have, that might help.

but being in college isn't that bad, and you save a lot of money. especially if your fiancee has a car.

yup,

either you have an s13 with abs and you got a non-abs driveshaft, or you don't have abs and got an abs driveshaft

i beleive it is the second one, but not 100%

he must have an ABS diff in the car (i don't think the '89s came with ABS) with a non ABS shaft. many people have done that swap so he might have other problems. 1/8" isn't that much, i say just jam it in there.

Ok compare the 2

Mustang 4cyl= 105 HP

240sx 4cyl= 140-155 HP

Any questions? :D

found the ****ing cause, a bent transmission.beat it up. mother****er. and got it in. still don't know if the car runs. JB weld is setting overnight. I'll know tomorrow.

as for the guy that said jam it in there... I was. lol. with big hammers and a jack and anything else. it just didn't go. It does now.

and my brother doesn't have the mustang registered or insured, it was his first car and he keeps it as a beater. I have a feeling someday its going to end up in a demolition derby.
