thanks its nice easier to handle than stock. thats the only thing i can really say about it. cuz i was an auto before than when i put in my new engine i did the 5spd swap with a fidanza flywheel spec stage 3 cltuch and this driveshaft since the non-abs driveshaft didnt fit. it is nice looking tho and they got it to me in 9 days when their website quotes 2 weeks

im not sure if i want to get it or not. so far i dont really have any mods on the car and would like to do a turbo but im waiting til i get my new job before i start saving. and i could have this within 2 months without a doubt (ive cut back on work due to wrestling season) i dont want to get exhaust becuase i dont want people to consider me a ricer and honestly i dont see the need for it yet. do you think this would be a good mod to do? im lookin into intakes as well. im considering an injen ram air

its all up to u. $500 is a lot of money and it wont make that much of a difference. prolly more than an intake or exhuast will tho. if u are sure ur goin to go turbo get things that will go along with a turbo: good exhuast, good clutch and lighweight flywheel, short shifter, pulleys. jsut get a cone filter for ur intake for $50 instead of paying $200 for a shiny pipe.

see thats the thing i cant decide if i want to go turbo or not. ive got 125k miles on my motor so i m having trouble deciding on what to do. but i think i may try and get that driveshaft after i get some speakers.... im tired of having stereo speakers in the trunk because i have 1 working speaker. ive just been waiting til i had enough to get all the speakers at one time

i turboed my 240 at 122kmi and would have been fine if i kept the boost to 7psi instead of 11psi. do a compression check on ur motor to see if its strong then decide. jstu know it is a lot of money expecially if u have to pay someone to do the work. u might be better off with bolt ons. the kaDE is alot of fun even with intake headers and exhuast which i had before and i was an auto. with turbo the ka is jsut crazy.

hey i jsut put in kicker tweeters tonight and what a difference. i was never into systems i jstu want clean sound a a HU that doesnt skip. i got pioneer speakers out of my parts car and they were nice and i could turn up the voluume more. my factory tweeters started to buz so i got new ones for xmas and damn. they are prolly louder than the rest of my speakers. i might actually think about gettin a lil sub some time which i never thought i would

Milage is redundant... if the car was maintaned properly all it's life then it will be in good enough condition to be turbocharged.

what kind of power gains would you get from it. i would imagine you would get some with the less weight but i would like to know exact numbers if anyone can tell me.

You gain power back from the reduction in the additional U-joint flex as well as the lighter weight. However aluminum flexs more than steel so it's double edged.

Acpt.com sells custom carbon fiber driveshafts that are used in several Japanese time-attack cars (Garage Feast's S13 for example) I believe they're between $700-$900

carbon fiber is cool and a lil lighter but they shatter if hit hard

Carbon fiber is also better because it will not flex like aluminum.

yes, but carbon is very susceptable to chipping from just regular debris flying up from the road. If it had a layer of kevlar or some other impact/abrasion absorbing material covering it, I'd feel much safer with that kind of investment. They will though, spread apart like a brush if too much power is sent to the driveshaft versus you getting extra vents added to the cabin area from having a steel or aluminum driveshaft so they're safer for high power applications.

THAT is a great idea. They could probably use a material that is not too expensive and therefore not significantly increse the price. Even if chipping CF isn't really a worry, it would give the buyer some piece of mind.
