I know that there has been a lot of talk about driveshaft modification. I am at the stage in my swap where I need my driveshaft modified. Can anyone that has done an rb25det swap in an s14 give me the exact specs of what I need to do?

How are you mounting it, r33 crossmember or mack's mounts? Do you have the motor/transmission dropped in? I've tried asking this before and there is no exact # available. RB25 swaps into s14's just haven't been done much. That's what I'm doing. Just find a custom driveshaft place, ask them how they want you to measure the lenght of it, then measure it when everything has been dropped in, and have them make it to the right length.

Most of the time a shop wants you to measure from the trans SEAL, not the end of the dust shield to the diff flange with the cars weight on all 4 wheels so the diff is rotated into its weighted position. At my shop we have a drive on lift(alignment machine) and I pushed it up there and raised it into the air. In my 1989 S13 with the stock R33 Crossmembers the measurement was 44 1/4 inches long if I remember right. I had mine done in 3" steel and it ran just over $400.00. The shaft was ENTIRELY new with HUGE U-Joints. I don't know if this helps, but I tried.

Sounds about right. My measurement came to 46 1/4 with the RB swap in the S14. Using the stock R33 crossmember and mounts.

Same as mine, I wonder if the S14 is just 2" longer or if something mounts different.....

Thanks a lot fellas. I think I am just going to take it to a custom driveshaft place and have them measure and cut it with the car there.

it shouldn't be longer b/c the KA24DE's from both S13 and S14's are interchangable on either car... so it should be the exact same.

The engines are the same but they do not share the same driveshaft. It could be that the S14 has a longer wheel base then the S13. Also I checked my measurements with other people who has done the RB swap in the S14 chassis.

I've read that the s14 driveshaft is 2" longer than the s13. I've just going to put it in there and ask a shop how they want me to measure it, and have them make it for me.

The S13 and S14 driveshaft are different lengths and the center carrier bearing is in a different location... The S14 is about 2" longer.....
