Hey, I have a 1992 base-model 240SX. The car is 5-speed and without anti-lock brakes. Currently, it has an S13 redtop and transmission, but I removed my stock driveshaft because its causing a lot of vibration at low speeds and during turns. I think it's too short. It also has a rubber bushing near the transmission end that is supposedly unfavorable. So I bought another driveshaft that has a UV joint where the rubber bushing would be and it also is a bit longer. However, the driveshaft wouldn't mesh with the transmission spline. The transmission spline has 22 teeth, and the driveshaft had 24. I did take it out from an automatic '89-'90 240SX. I'm not sure if this matters. The point is, I need to know what exact driveshaft I should find. I can exchange the one I bought so it's no problem. Thanks!

you need the exact drive shaft that came off of your car..manual without abs. the manual driveshafts and automatic driveshafts are different. thats why it would not fit

i had a auto 240 and put a s13 redtop on mine with a manual transmission. i think the auto driveshaft is bigger then the manual one.

there is supposed to be a little bit of gap at the end of your trans. Dust cover that you talk of covers that gap to prevent dirt from entering in there.

If your driveshaft is causing vibrations, its most likely not because the driveshaft is too short but that your center bearing is probably dead or on it's way out. Ive swapped a S13 blacktop into my 92 240sx and I didnt have any issues with the lenght of the driveshaft etc. The only fitment issue that you run into is that the dust collar on the SR transmission is longer than the one on the KA. You either can swap the dust collar out from the KA to the SR, or just cut the SR one short enough so it doenst rub.
