curious... my buddy was explaining to me that a saftey tunnel or support that just wrapps around the driveshaft would be a good idea for when we start to reall race our cars this season. I know it probobly wont break, but you never know...

question is does anyone else have this type f safety mechanism under their car? or runs somethin else to prevent the driveshaft from destroyong the underside of the car if it were to break? just curous

also has anyone ever head of the driveshaft failing or snapping anywere on 240's? stock or an engine with a magnitude of HP

Never heard of one breaking...

And guys have done +600rwhp...shattered diffs and a couple axles, occasionally the transmission input shaft...but never a driveshaft.

You have NOTHING to worry about.

if you get an aftermarket 1 piece driveshaft, you can use the center carrier bracket from your stock shaft as a safety device, but like orion said, the stock piece will hold

ive never heard of one breaking, but if one did at high speed, it would be bad...

it happened to my friends jeep a while back, we were only going 2 or 3 mph, but it still put a nice dent in the muffler
