i searched and i found out that the second half is the half that determines ABS/VLSD, and the front half is the auto or manuel part, but everywhere i read thay say you have to have the whole manual W/ABS, if you dont have it then you might as well buy an aluminum one.

what I want to know is, can i take the ABS part off of my auto driveshaft, and put it on the manuel half of the driveshaft I got(all he had was manual W/O ABS) and then have a manuel W/ ABS.

thanks.

and one more thing, do you really have to remove the whole driveshaft(both halfs) to pull the engine and transmission, or can you just remove the front half.

thanks again

u might be able to loosen the carrier bearing, then remove the front part out of the extension housing. Then loosen the bolts between the front DS and the carrier bearing. Honostly, it's not much harder to just take the whole thing off.

the only potential problem with mixing halves is that the assembly is balanced as a whole. that means that even with matching halves even if you take them apart and put them back together in a different orientation you could possibly experience a vibration. the same would go for mixing halves you are looking at a potential vibration issue. it isnt a certain but it is a risk you take. my personal opinion is just buy a whole unit regardless of if it be factory or aftermarket

well in your case mixing shaft halves is possible you will just probably have a driveline vibration but you should be able to live with that
