I've been trying for a while to fit the zerolift autolab one piece shaft into the rb25 input shaft but it seems impossible. Maybe I'm doing something wrong I posted some pictures.

zerolift yoke into rb25 input shaft

KA yoke into rb25 input shaft

As you can see the ka fits in smooth but the zerolift seems to be way to big.

Here's a comparison

call zerolift?

its just a driveshaft..there really arent any tricks as long as you have the right transmission which you probably dont.

It's the weekend do you think they would pick up the phone ? I know it's a driveshaft, and the installation should be pretty straight forward. That's why I posted the pictures up, because the installation isn't going as smoothly as it should.

If you don't have anything to say that will help my problem don't say anything all. Especially stating the obvious.

Thanks

excuse me?

if its so obvious then why did you even make the thread? 1 of 2 things has happened

1) you are too stupid to install a driveshaft and probably shouldnt be working on cars

2) the shaft is incorrect for your transmission and you should contact the people who made it.

how hard is this?

p.s. the input shaft is on the other side of the transmission.

why would you ask a question and get smart when someone answers it for you and like you said it was obvious why it didnt work its too big so the question was stupid in the first place

hmmm...also if the ka driveshaft fits in the rb transmission it might not be a rb25 transmission it could be a rb20 transmission...just a thought...if i remember correctly i uses a 28/30 spline yoke on the driveshaft for my 25 transmission

yeah, looks like you have an rb20 transmission.

take pictures of your motor and post.

hope what ever screw ball importer you got that set up from didnt tell you your were buying a rb25motor and transmission combo and sent you a Rb20 transmission... or worse sent you a RB20 in disguise.

I wouldnt bother with the draft shaft issue until you confirm whats is in your car.

I've heard about that scam, and then they sell the rb25 one for way more than they bought the rb20 one for. Take some pics of the transmission and compare it to the rb25's.That yolk looks to be the right size for the 25. I compared my 25's yolk to the old KA one and it was the same size difference in the pics you took.

Exactly... I read the original post and realized this dude got jacked. If you can fit a ka yoke in that trans, it ain't an RB25 trans...

def an rb20 trans which in its own right can hold its own but i'd be calling up the importer and asking them WTF is up with that...you paid for a 25 and 25 box and you get a 20 trans or worse an NA rb20 trans.

They did tell me it was a complete set. I bought it in front clip form. As I was taking everything out i found it wierd that the transmission bolts where tampered with and a few wires where cut. The clutch in there was in almost new condition so I assumed nothing was wrong. It didn't even come with a MAF.

I'm going to call them in the morning. It seems it's hard to trust any importer nowadays !

yeahh I wouldnt complain if it worked but if I stick with it I'd either have to go with yet another custom driveshaft or the correct transmission. Either way it's a lot of money.

Thanks for all the responses !! I'll keep you all posted on what happens when I talk to the importer ( JDMenginezone.com Clifton NJ)

And to Joe

I really don't want to be a d!ck to anyone. Have you ever been to a store and asked for help, but they tell you there's nothing they can do for you ? Then you go to a different store they lead you in the correct direction right away ? You just did that and upped your post count by 2.

I'm pretty new at this so thanks again guys.

Definitely a rb20 trans.

Since you have the KA drive shaft, why dont you use that d-shaft and get the car running(I dont know if you did do that or not, just assuming) Because rb20's use ka d-shaft and I'm not sure if it works with custom mounts or just with R32 crossmember like mine is.

Other wise no need to be hostile $hit like this gets people pissed but usually you got to work with what you got.

You paid for a 25.Don't accept a 20 transmission.25 transmission is stronger than the 20.

You should probably check out how much a 25 transmission costs vs. a 20 transmission. Then you might be a little pissed.Especially if you start making some big power and blow your trans.......

A used rb25 transmission is around 800-1200 the neo trannsmissions are the most expensive I just talked to the importer he said he's willing to exchange. I hope he keeps his word.

Push clutch FTW. Too many bad experiences with pull types...
