Talked to a mechanic today about putting a one piece driveshaft into my car. He said that every 12 to 18 months you need to replace the u joints? Just wondering how long people have had their joints with a one piece and what they are using. I'm looking at a shaftmaster aluminum 1 piece.

Also, he said the U bracket was probably the source of my vibration. Does a 1 piece still need a U bracket?

I've had my 1 pc DS for over 3 years and 25,000Km. Never had a problem with it. A TT 1 pc DS will have 1 u-joint at the transmission end and a CV joint at the diff end. NA's will have U-joints at both ends.

I just ordered it And i don't think he was talking about the U joints. Is there a bracket that holds a 2 piece in place under the car? I honestly have no idea...
