Hi im putting a vg30 in a 71 510.I didnt have a angle finder when i pulled out engine.Does anybody know the proper angle?Is there a range?Thanks any info would be much appreciated/

I'm pretty sure the rule of thumb is to keep it under 15 degrees for best efficiency.

Thanks Papasmurf2k3 love your name.What if it was going upward from transmission dont know the differance gravities gravity?Trying to get engine as low and towards back as possible. I dont think its going that way but i havent checked yet.Had engine in and out 5 times now,about to build engine mnts and transmission mnts.Had to make sure drive shaft angle was write first.

It really doesn't have anything to do with gravity... but more to do with the angle on the joints in the driveshaft. The more angle you have, the more stress gets put on the joints, and the less efficient the driveline comes. I THINK you can run UP TO about 30 degrees, but you might need to look into special U-joints or something at that point. I've seen some intense angles on trucks.
