First time owner of a 2001 Nissan Altima SE with a problem on the driverside doorlock. The switch will still lock and unlock all the other three locks, but not the driverside. If I were to lock and unlock with the key from the keyhole on the driverside door, it will do the same for all other three locks. The only way to lock and unlock the driverside is manually or with the key from the outside. Samething with the factory remote, and only the other three locks will unlock and lock. Does this mean I need a new solenoid for the driverside lock? Where to buy one, how much, and is it a PITA to install it?

I say door lock actuator has died. Dealer or used but you can never cound on used. You will have to remove the inner door panel to access the actuator.

240Xtrm, did you ever fix this? I have the same problem and am thinking that Reverend D is right that it is the actuator, but wouldn't mind confirmation before I tear my wife's door panel apart.
