So I just hit about 45k miles on my 07 Versa SL and my drivers side windows is having huge issues going up. Going down it goes ok, but up it takes a LONG time to get going and then I have to help it along with my hand.

Sadly I only have the standard warranty, anyone know where I can get a motor cheap?

I've had this problem too, it usually only happens when it's cold out though which is understandable. I have had issues with the auto up/down. Mostly the auto up decides to stop working for a day or two but normally it will fix itself. I don't know if thats a serious problem or not.

Mine started like that. Now it wont go up at all without help and the auto up hasn't worked for days.

So, took it to a mechanic and he said that water had somehow gotten into the motor and froze it. He cleaned it out and it works fine now.

Anyone have an idea how this could've happened.

try this first get some pure silicone spray and spray it liberally with the spray stick down the window channell and work the window up and down if that doesnt work your in for a motor, and possibly motor regulator

My 2008 has done the same thing since NEW! I took it in to the dealer while under warranty, and all they did was the "lube trick" mentioned earlier. It seemed to have worked for the rest of last winter, now we'll see if it still works OK. Of course now it is out of warranty. At least we have a work order showing that it wasn't working properly while it was still under warranty.

I really get tired of dealerships acting like "your the only one that has had this problem", when you go on the internet and find that a lot of others are experiencing the same thing.

It almost has to be a "design issue". Why would it only affect the driver's window, not only on my Versa, but on the others as well? I never hear of someone saying the passenger window is sluggish. My guess is that it has something to do with a voltage drop due to the auto-up and auto-down features.

BTW, I just posted about fixing my rear window defroster. A few others are experiencing the same failure of that switch, that I did.

I used to like VW's, and worked my way thru college as a VW mechanic (mid 70's). VW lost their way for many years, but had a chance to reinvent themselves and get customers to take a second look at them with the introduction of the New Beetle (show up to drive the Beetle, take home a Jetta). Instead, everyone soon learned the New Beetle had electrical problems out the wazoo, and the dealerships were unwilling or unable to fix them. It all can be traced back to the execution of the complex electrical system by the factories in Mexico. Does anyone else see a similarity here? I thought our Versa's were made in Mexico, and they could have the same vendor as VW supplying the electrical components.
