Drivers side door won't open from outside

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi, I have a 2010 EX35 and all of a sudden I can't open my driver's side door from the outside. It does open from the inside. Has anyone heard of this happening? Thanks.

this happening to my friend's BMW. It was as if the outside door handle was not connected to the internal mechanism. The dealer fixed it easily: a plastic connector was broken. The cold might have snapped it (not sure). Not sure if this helps, but it happened to a friend a few weeks ago. Let us know what is the problem - to help the community!

was it very cold?

If not, it's probably the door handle cable that disconnected...

It was cold but not uncommonly so (for Edmonton). It was the actuator they replaced.

Lol I'm in Edmonton too. I am cold. Any of you have problems starting your car in the cold weather? I just replaced my battery last year and I am still having issues starting, especially if its -20 or below, or if I haven't started my car in 18 hours or so

It has been -25c for a week a few weeks ago here in kanata, Ontario. EX started right up. Mind you, it is a 2010 with a 3 year old battery and fully synthetic oil as well. It is not plugged in, as I can't find the block heater cord!

I haven't had any issues with starting. I park in the garage at night (not heated), I also don't plug in.

Are you talking about the lock assembly?

Item 6 on the link:

I did mine last year. Cost me arround 250$ instead of 600$ at the dealer.

For a reason, some of the Nissan/Infiniti door locks assembly are fragile to cold weather...

That's probably it, they called it the actuator though.
