Drivers seat slide problem

Hey guys,

I just bought an '02 I35 that is in great shape except for one small problem. When I accelerate the seat slides Back about 1/4 of an inch and when I hit the breaks it slides forward about the same. It's not that big of a deal just knid of annoying.

Has anybody else experienced this problem?

Hmm, does the seat adjustment work properly?

My first thought is that there's a bad gear, maybe missing a couple teeth.

Mine driver seat in the '98 Maxima does the same thing. Power/Leather. It works fine, just that little slide.. My cloth seats didn't do that either.

Actually, now that I give the issue more thought, I'm thinking it is more likely related to a loose bracket than to a gear or motor issue.

The previous owner said it did the same thing when he first bought it.. He ttok it to the dealer and said it took them less than 10 minutes to fix it so I am sure it is somethign simple.
