Post

so, i took the panel off my drivers' door (RH Drive) -- the lock switch (plastic) just...flips back and forth, no resistance and otherwise seems like it does nothing -- any help?

do i have to buy a whole new handle/lock or can i someway fix this thing?

Thanks! (first post btw -- my dad gave me his '90 300zx, coupe, NA, 5spd; needs a LOT of TLC) Excited to be here --

Gio

Probably just forgot to reconnect the little metal actuator rod.

Welcome!
Probably a little clip, check out the "everything you need to know...Z32" sticky for the online service manual, which is your best friend for such questions and solving problems with the Z32.
Sounds like you will be there a lot if as you say it needs a lot of TLC, as most/all Z32's do...Good Luck!

After a little research, it appears it's the cable that runs from the door lock switch that is broken.

Does anyone know what kind of part this is specifically or where to buy?

Try Concept Z Performance, or Z1's used parts if CZP can't help.
