Hello all. Just a quick question. 1994 Q45, I have a switch for the drivers side window that has no continuity when ohmed out. Now, how much of a pain is it to take the door apart to get to the switch and replace it? Let me know.

Thanks everyone

Pretty easy really. Remove the armrest with a wide padded screwdriver. Insert it it about an inch deep between the armrest and padded door handle and gently pry to the rear until it pops off.

The seat control (plastic) trim has 3 metal pawls and a couple of plastic tabs. Use the same padded screwdriver along the bottom until you can get your fingers behind it to gently pop it loose. Try and not let it bend in the middle as it can crack across the top.

With these two pieces out you've exposed the 5 or so screws that need to be removed to lift off the door panel. Pick the right phillips for these screws as they are easy to strip. Unfortunately the panel has to come off to get to the window amp and to unplug the seat controller. It's held on by about 10 plastic tabs on 3 sides. Start in a bottom corner and work your way around. Once it's loose lift it off the window channel and unplug the couple of connectors.

This sounds like a lot of work and may take you 30-40 minutes the first time you do it. The second time you remove a door panel if it takes more than 10 minutes you need to question your abilities (just kidding). Good luck.

Ryan... I have to ask - how did you ohm test it without removing it? Just curious...
