2009 Rogue

I am getting ready tomorrow to see why my daughters outside driver handle will not open the door.

Youtube videos and the Chilton manual I have says the door panel is removed, then the window needs to be lowered and 2 bolts removed to disconnect the glass window. Then remove the 2nd plastic panel to access the interior of the driver door.

I am comfortable with this so far...

BUT after I am done and want to put everything back together, how do I know the window is in the right place as far as alignment when it is assembled and I roll it up?

You're always best to reconnect the switch with the inside trim still removed and test it before completing the reassembly. Before that, right after the pane is reinstalled, feel for the front and back edges to make sure they're in the channels and not displaced. When you "miss", it will usually be at the front edge. The pane will drop straight onto the regulator guides and line itself up if it's inserted properly. If you need to "jimmy" the position to line the holes up, then chances are the pane is out of the channels.

Ok, I'll see how that goes...
I am sure I can get it in the groves and tighten the bolts to grip the windows.
My main concern is whether the window might be forward or back a 1/2 inch and I won't know until I see the window go up and down.
then it's back to loosen it up and slide it back or forward a bit.

Thanks for the input!

Unless the rubber channels are screwed up, there won't be any "play" when the pane is centered between them. You can only miss the channels by being outside them. If you're inside at both ends of the pane, then no misalignment is possible.

Thanks for the clarification!
Nice design!
On some other cars, you have to test the window rolling it up and down to know if they are aligned properly.

Will get started this afternoon when it warms up!

I have been through this twice.. the first time the head stripped out of the torx bolt. I don't have deep well of tools and patience for this sort of thing so I ordered a new handle from a wrecker and drilled the old one out. As for the window its obvious how it goes back in. I kinda panicked when it came out and just opened the other door to see how it went back together. I used Honda cable lube and it froze up again 2 winters later. Thats with the TSB applied whatever that was.

Yea, once I put the window back in, it's obvious there is no adjustment.
