driver side power seat failure.

I bought the 2001 QX4 with 113k mile on it last month.
today I tried the AUTO function on the driver side power seat. but after I return to my car, the seat didn't return to the previous position it should be. also, I was not able to move the seat back and forward by push the bottom. up/down still good.

is there any fuse might blow? anyway I can solve this problem without visit the mechanic?

please give me advice..

I had the exact same problem with my 02 qx4. The solution that I was given on this forum was to go behind the seat and push the seat while using the button to slide the seat forward. It worked for me once but I tried again a few days later but the button didn't work again... But I haven't tried pushing the seat again. Hope this solution works for you.

I tried to push the seat this morning, but didn't work...
I think I have to visit the shop now

You can tap the motor underneath and it will work

Id love to know how much and what parts needed to be replaced to rid me of this problem, Im thinking it just may need a new motor

This is a common issue form what I have seen/heard. All I did was tap the motor with something (start out lightly) while continuing to push the seat forward button. Hope it works

i replaced the motor on mine. think it was about $250. pretty easy once the seat is out and it has been good ever since.
