Hi - I'm window shopping for a used 350/370 convertible and I'm wondering if it's feasible for a strap / assist handle to be attached to the driver-side windshield pillar. Is it strong enough? is the pillar pre-configured for an aftermarket add-on like this? Etc. As I'm aging rapidly and my lower body mechanics don't work as well as they once did, I'm looking for a means of assistance for getting in and out of the car. Ideas? Thanks!

The pillars are plenty strong, they're reinforced on a ragtop. However, there are wires and probably an airbag underneath the trim, so you'll need to plan and measure carefully about where and how you attach the strap.

You're most welcome! Post some "during" and "after" pics if you can, I know a few other elderly Z owners who might be interested in the same sort of thing. Happy motoring!
