Driver side HID dead

Anyone what is going on with this? I'm not even sure how the HID is configured. I know that it isn't the bult because both bulbs still work on the passenger side and not the driver side. Is there a ballast for each side or does one ballast run both the headlights?

There is a ballast on the backside of each headlight on the bottom side. Easiest way to check to see if its the ballast is to swap the ballast off of the other side and try it.
