driver seat wont go back or forward

the driver seat stopped going forward and backward works every other way what could it be...

search, quickest fix, lift up the leather on the bottom front of your seat, just a few inches in is the silver motor, give it a couple love taps with a screwdriver.

I have the same exact problem. Tapping on the motor worked for a little while but eventually stopped. I had a dealer look at it, they told me there are "dead spots" on the motor and it needs to be replaced. But at about $1100 just for the part, I got the seat where I want it and live with it!

i don't think "dead spots" is accurate. When the motor is positioned all the way back it has a tendency to get stuck. To avoid the problem don't position it all the way back, even a 1/4" makes a difference. Do a forum search this has been cover a ridiculous amount of times.
