I had the same problem when first got the car, turned out there was a crap load of dust and lint in behind that plastic cover on this black fraom the belt slides on where the seat belt goes in behind. Not saying that's your problem but there might be to much friction, all you have to do is pop off that cover start at the bottom and take a look.

Nissan recommends cleaning the "D ring" that the belt slides through. If that doesn't work I'm pretty sure the belts have a lifetime warranty. I know they did in 1990.

A quick search of NICO shows you this:

You got it covered, head to your dealership and laugh all the way to a free fix.

Does this apply to our Q45's as well? What about not being the original owner?

Doesn't matter at all and of course a Q45 would be covered, it was the most expensive car on the lot. I have a 1997 and I am the 2nd owner and I cannot wait to get my free repair.

Just head into your local dealership and talk with service writer...I bet you 100% covered.
