I am about to fix a friends power windows in a 240. The Passenger side works(she says), but the drivers side doesn't. In my car when one would stop working, both would stop working, and it was the ltitle white box in the door(i forgot the name of it already)...the question is...since the passengers side is working and the drivers isn't..doesn't that mean it has to be the window motor..or could it still be this white box?

Yeah if the motor is gone you wont hear a thing. Then again it could be the switch (wich you could bypass at the motor connector with a pos and neg lead to the battery to make sure, or a DMM to test the switch...). Both of these could stop the window from moving plus will be silent...

If the regulator goes the window wont move but it will sound like hell.... Hope its not that as the unit was like 120$ employee price from nissan... My gf's 92 drivers side went out and we couldnt afford a new one and found none in the yards... Well it was held up with big zip ties for a long long time, untill I found a mint condition one at the yard out of an 89... It looked recently replaced even, it was that clean. Oh best of all It cost a whopping 8$ hehe.

If it is the motor though look at the regulator cog / pully while its out for cracks and signs of wear. It could prepare you for a soon to be hassle.
