Driver's side lock will not work with remote or button

Just purchased an '04 Nissan Maxima SE 6 speed and just LOVING the way it drives. Car did not come with key fobs so I purchased 2 aftermarket ones, programmed them and all doors/trunk works except driver's side lock. Did a little more digging and saw the switch did not work with the lock/unlock button inside the car. Took off the door panel to see if there was a loose wire but all appears to be intact. Stuck......Any suggestion?
