Driver's side door locks itself

I've had this happen to me twice now:

1. a. I unlock all the doors with the keyfob, or b. the doors are unlocked because I parked without locking them2. I open the driver's side door and get in3. I start the engine4. I open the driver's side door (still unlocked) and get out5. I close the driver's side door6. I open the rear door or hatch for some reason7. I close the rear door or hatch8. I try to open the driver's side door to get back in, but I can't (it's locked!)9. I get the second keyfob from my wife and press unlock, but it does nothing! 10. I open the rear door (still unlocked, whew!) and unlock the driver's side door from the inside.

Has anyone else had this happen? Can anyone else reproduce this?

Yeah, that happened to me too. I figured that I must have hit the latch to lock the door on my way out. It only happened once and I was able to climb into the back and flip the latch to unlock it.

I've repeatedly opened the driver door, turned on the car, and put the defrost on while I scrape off the ice. In doing so I haven't had the problem again. So, I guess I won't know if it was me or the car.

That's the most probable explanation: I must have brushed up against the driver's side door latch. After all, that's the only way to lock the driver's side door without locking the others.

I tried it again, but without starting the engine (so I would have my keyfob). With the door open, I intentionally closed the latch before getting out. I had no trouble unlocking the door with the keyfob. I'll have to try it again with the second keyfob and the engine on. This is what I don't get. I swear it wouldn't unlock last time.

In any case, that won't help me much if I'm alone. I'll just have to keep an eye on that latch.
