How do you fix a driver's seat that won't fold forward to access the rear seat ? Used to work and does not any longer. Seat just stuck and lever moves freely. Tried gentle force with lever activation to no avail. Not sure how to access the interior of the seat to see the mechanism. Could be worn out. 2009 Altima coupe. Thanks, anyone.

My drivers seat is power. I have the lever by the headrest to quickly move the seatback to the forward position, but I can also move the seatback forward using the motor with the button down bellow by the seat base. My passenger seat is not power and has the lever on the inside for someone in the back to move the seat forward, but there is a secondary lever on the outside of the seat down towards the seat base which does the same thing. I would have to assume a drivers seat that is not power would have the same set up. Do you have a second lever?

Thank you. Yes I do, and the front seat is power. I can use the power to recline the seat forward ok. I just cannot use either manual lever anymore to quick-recline the front seat. Any ideas ? I have seen the exploded views from the shop manual and it is fairly complicated to release the clips and get in there to see the mechanism. I do not want to break them just because I do not know what I am doing. If it is too difficult, I can live with it I guess. I would like to have that function back, though. Thanks for your responses.

Something is more than likely broken in the seat internally. Tearing the seat apart is probably going to be more of a hassle than it is worth (and might lead to breaking something else). I would live with it myself, But if you want to tear into it, good luck to you.
