I got into my car today, and I was surprised when the seat wouldn't move forward. I made sure the entry assist was turned on, then tried to move the seat with the switch. Nothing. All the other seat adjustments worked fine though. Annoyed, I went through my service records and found out that this problem had occured before on this car and the seat motor was replaced. Reading online it also seems that this is a common A33 problem. Infiniti Corporate doesn't want to hear it though, they claim that it's not a common problem (yet there's a TSB on it). Are there any known fixes for this issue other than paying the dealer $500 or so to replace the motor?

I would check to make sure all the wiring is still intact and wasn't crushed from sliding the seat back and forth.

Check the seat track for coins that have spilled from your pocket.

Checked both the wiring and for coins, and it's fine in that regard. It makes a clicking noise so it does seem to be getting power.

Oddly, I called a Nissan dealer and they said even though the exact same TSB exists for the Maxima about this issue, they can't fix it because it doesn't match my car's VIN.
