The driver's seat on my QX4 has a major problem as the leather has broken down badly on the side where the seat controls are located. Last summer, I bought some cheap seat covers but they were poor quality. The other day the seat cover strap kept getting entangled with the seat controls and putting the seat out of position which led me to cutting the straps. Now does anyone have any recommendations for a reasonably priced seat covers for the fronts. A few months ago, I visited an upholstery shop and they wanted $400 to repair that seat with leather material, but I thought it was an insane price.

you might get lucky and find a seat in decent condition at a junkyard/auto salvage yard.

I am near a junk yard so will keep my eyes open, even though the last few QX4s seats were really bad, the side seems to be the Achilles tendon for that seat. Will the passenger's side seat work in the driver's, but seat control could be an issues.

Same issues. The drivers seat is prone to ripping on the bottom cushion because of ingress/egress. Im every pathfinder/qx4 I’ve seen at a junkyard had the same issue.

What we need is to find a new factory bottom seat cover so we can replace; not the whole cushion and cover, just the cover. Sometimes they are called seat skins.

Anyone have any luck on eBay? I’ve seen some for other manufactures.

Something like this:

Actually, here it is on eBay,

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 2587267203

but it’s $180, so kinda expensive, and then you have to take the seat out yourself, install yourself, etc. Payjibg someone $400 may be easier.

Or if you can find this part for less than $100, then it may be worth it.

Try another upholstery shop. I had mine done several years ago and the seat is still great. Cost about $60.00 then. I see the same type of seat breakdown on other QX4's

It looks like they replaced the panel, rather than covered it. Looks like the rest of the seat.

so when you say panel.. you mean just part of the leather seat where it was ripped? ie just enough leather to get to the next panel where a line of stitching is? sounds like they did a good job
