Driver's door won't lock

Hello. I have a 93 that I got at an auction so it has a non-factory key made by a locksmith (if that matters). I got an ebay FOB and just programmed it. It works fine but I can't lock the drivers side front door. I have in the past, which also armed the alarm as I mentioned in another thread, but I can't get it now. Even with the FOB, all doors lock and unlock but the drivers doesn't. I hear the mechanism and I can see the manual lock/unlock knob above the handle moving but somehow the lock doesn't engage. I can still open the drivers door after its "locked" by the fob.

How do I remedy this?

Something is binding.
You need to take the door panel off and lubricate any moving parts.

manually push in the door lock knob on the inside. i have to do the same on my passenger side door or else it will not lock. have not been able to fix it after tinkering with it after a half day of work.

Could be a door lock timer I guess. I could snag one from the junkyard on a lower mileage J for cheap. I'll try that first.
