Driver's door handle not working

My 92 coupe's door handle stopped working. It's only on the driver's door and only from the outside. It can be opened from the inside. Is this a common problem?

I guess I should just take the door apart and try to find out what broke or came loose...

More then likely something fell off inside the door.
