Driver HID D2R Headlight out.... HELP!!!

Hey all I have a 2001 QX4 that I have absolutely fallen in love with. One night my drivers side headlight --> blink, blink, gone. Has not worked since. I have searched all over online and finally decided to spend the money on a new bulb and do the work myself. Long story short a new bulb, an OEM ballast from an online junkyard and it still won't work. The only conclusion I'm left with is that the ballast I was just sent is bad. The parking lights in the headlight unit work so I'm thinking the fuses are ok, but really I don't know.

Any other Ideas??

The dealer quoted me ~$700 to fix it. FIX A HEADLIGHT $700???? I don't think so!

Swap the passenger and driver side ballasts and see if the problem moves. If it doesn't, try bypassing the DRL module if present.

Ok how would I go about that? My dumbass finally decided after going through all this to check the fuse and sure enough it was blown. Light still doesn't work, but I'm going to try and switch the ballasts and go through it again stepwise.

I'm afraid I don't know the location of the ballasts, sorry. I'll try to do some searching to find out.

Also try swapping the two headlight relays - perhaps do this first since it's easier.
