Driver Door Wont Lock From Outside/Part Identification

Hello everyone

So my drivers side door will not lock/unlock from the outside, so I constantly have to unlock the passenger side door and unlock it from the inside.

I have taken the door panel off and have found this to be the culprit


I went to the dealer with this picture and looking at the parts diagram he showed me we selected a part for order and it ended up being the wrong one.

Just a shot in the dark but does anyone happen to know what this part is?



This diagram of the door panel isn't the same as what the dealer showed me, but hopefully it will help anyways.

Hey guys so update I have a new major problem now that is beyond my original problem.

Short of it is when I was trying to put this new piece on the linkage and back to the lock cylinder I ran out of daylight before I could get it on and decided to just work on it the next day.

Now the door is stuck locked, cant open it from the inside or the outside.

I took it to a shop and they told me they had to break the lock to open the door, so they did and I now needed a new full lock actuator motor, which is like 300 bucks. I bought a used one off ebay for 30 bucks with apparently in 'good working condition' and gave it to them to install, and the same problem persists. If they lock the door it gets stuck in the lock position, so now they are giving it back to me and I cannot lock the door.

His suggestion was to buy a new lock actuator motor from the dealer but I am skeptical about this and am wondering if there is anymore troubleshooting I can do before I do this.

Anyone had this problem before?

Z1 sells a metal lock striker for pretty cheap,my Z had the same problem and that fixed it right up.

Dang, its been dead here. I'm confused on why you can't pull on one of the rods to the door lock to make it release. Everything should be available to you that you'd need.
