I am a new 2007 Altima 2.5S owner who bought my car outright from a dealership about 3-3.5 weeks ago. When I bought the car all my speakers worked perfectly, well, except one if the back speakers sounds shaky/rattly. That's another issue for another thread though. Anyway all the sudden out of nowhere one day as I was listening to my iPod through auxiliary my drivers door speaker went out. I immediately though it was my auxiliary cable because occasionally i have to move it a bit because the left side goes out, and no it's not the radio it's an old aux cable. But after turning on the fm radio I noticed that the back speaker, and speaker on top of the dash still work. But not the one in the drivers door. I guess this would be a good time to mention i have the 6 speaker system not the Bose one. Oh yeah an to add to the mystery every once in a great while it will come on for a few seconds, to a minute, then it goes right back out. So I'm hoping you guys could help me figure out how to fix it. I was thinking loose wire, but i dont know and I'm just wondering if there's anything I could do or if I am doomed to go to the nissan dealership up the road an having to spend a fortune to get it repaired?

Yep, just a loose connection. If you're comfortable removing the door panel, then it won't cost anything to repair.

thanks for the reply Rogue, is there any possibility that the losse connection could be at the behind the actual radio? Thank for the advice i found how to get the door panel off on here an hopefully I can try it tomorrow! Where i live it is freezing cold so I'm hoping it might be a little warmer today.

Could it be? Perhaps, but I doubt it. The wires terminate in a plug that plugs into the back of the stereo.

Firstly i just want to say thanks for the replies, after pulling the panel off and attempting to check for loose connections I couldn't find any. I tried pushing on the wires with the car on to fix the problem but nothing. So after receiving my 2 new i-keys in the mail I knew id have to go to the dealer anyway to get the keys programmed, i figured might as well kill two birds with one stone. After paying $70 for diagnostics they determined the speaker had actually gone out. So I went ahead and had them order a new speaker and by monday my radio will sound right again lol. So problem solved.

$70 for a diagnostic? holy s***, how much did you pay for the new speaker? and was it the same s*** oem speaker?

I had the same oem system in my car, upon receiving the car (dealership drove it to me) they blew a front speaker along the way, i got it fixed under warrenty, few months later it blew again. I ended up replacing them all myself. you could have picked up a pair of top notch DXi/kicker/pioneer speakers for under $100 at crutchfield lol.

wow I might look into that because the passenger door speaker sounds like it might be going out, BUT, do they have a set of six speakers, cuz the ones under the windshield and under the back window are small and not like the two in the front door. Yea it was OEM too, I know f******* dealerships charge out the a** for anything these days that's what I get for not buying a BRAND NEW CAR with a warranty.

This is common with all speakers. When a speaker start to "blow" its a process and not an event. The event is when it flat out stops but the process leading up to that is the pole piece in the magnetic gap of the speaker gets either knocked out of the magnetic gap or stuck in a position that the magnetic field cant control it anymore. It'll "come back" when it gets knock back into position, hitting a bump, etc. Then itll go away after some more movement makes this happen again. Factory speakers, yes even the Bose, are made to be as cheap and light as possible. Longevity is not their forte. Drop some aftermarkets in there and call it a day.
