Hey everyone,

My wife and I just got our new Rogue SL 2WD Premium (Love it!!!) 2 weeks ago and we were wondering about using a drive thru car wash.

What do you think about it? Should we just wash it ourselves?

Could those things harm a new car?

i didn't think any drive thru car washes were good for cars. they're harsh on the paint. i'm keeping my rogue @ hand car washes only.

Personally I only go to soft cloth drive thru car washes. I won't use the automatic ones at a gas station, there "Brushes" are usually rubber and are harsh on the clear coat.

The good car washes here rinse the car first wit soap and then wand wash with a soft brush and then the car goes thru the tunnel.

I try to avoid them, but I have used them twice this winter as I don't want the salt to sit on the car or hand wash it in temps under 20! I

We just got our Rogue 2 weeks ago and really enjoy it. I had to take the car to the dealer to adjust the tailgate. When I picked it up the service guy handed me a free coupon for a car wash at a "touchless" car wash so I'll be using that. I don't like the idea of those brushes on any car

Yeah, the chemicals are pretty tough on the finish as well. Best to get it hand-washed.

got my Rogue a 1.5 weeks ago, and I do a lot of highway driving, so it was pretty dirty already to say the least..

I have found that a simple water shower from the garden hose, and a good towel dry is all you really need, especially when the car is brand new.no soap, no chemicals..

the dirt and bugs just slide right off

oh, and always armor all the tires.. that makes all the difference

In this part of the country cars get pretty trashed (above and below) during the winter. It's a good idea to keep them washed to keep the road chemicals off of them. It simply isn't possible to wash them at home when the temperature is anywhere from 25 above to 35 below zero.

However, I only go to "touchless" car washes. Never ones with brushes.
