Check first the lines going to the cooler in the front rad. The lines have crush washers at top of transmission and the passenger side of transmission. With a flashlight see if they are leaking. If wet around the terminations, you may have to repair or replace the crush washers. To repair take apart, take washers out, then hammer carefully to straighten them out then reinstall torque down and test, to replace buy new put in.
Sometimes just tightening the connection works. Keep an eye on it for a while.
If a seal is bad, the shaft has to be removed but you may be able to replace the seal, depends on how agile you are and the amount of room to do the job. Make sure to check the level of fluid until repaired.
A temporary fix if the seal is just wet is to wipe grease over the seal, the grease will act as a dam until you get around fixing it. Another product that I use is Duxseal available from electrical wholesalers. This stuff never dries out and I use it for oil, water, vacuum seal and as a dielectric...
