1st and 2nd gear medium to heavy acceleration. its not wheel hop cause I'm not spinning, and not that harsh. i just replaced the carrier bearing/rubber mount a couple months ago. I haven't run over anything to dent the shaft. maybe diff bushings? i have been back under the car and made sure everything was tight. cars going under the knife this weekend anyways so i figured id kill 2 birds. I'm wondering if this might be the reason people go for the one piece shaft???

Yep. If it was the carrier bearing, it'd most likely do it during deceleration. Either way, a one piece DS would fix the problem. Diff bushings would just make a clunking sound, not necessarily a shake.

If you want a recommend, call David at Shaftmasters.com and tell him you're from NICO. He usually is able to hook members up with a little bit of a discount, and his stuff is top-notch quality.

Bad u joint would be really noticeable in higher speeds, but still would not rule it out. Who installed the carrier bearing? How is the transmission mount? Motor mounts? Are you sure its not an exhaust leak? The engine is on a different strain at lower gears under medium/high acceleration? Does it only do it on the lower gears or have you checked it at higher speeds?

all the bushings are good and mounts. i put the carrier bearing in myself about 3 months ago. easy to change. marked the shaft alignment before i took it out so I'm stumped. everything seems to be moving smooth. i wanna do the 1 peice shaft upgrade but im not sure how much accelleration change is noticable.

Are you sure its coming from the driveshaft? Is it possible the shake could be from a misfire under load? Like I stated earlier an exhaust leak will cause a rumble which can be misdiagnosed as a shake. Have you tried driving it at higher speeds? Is it still there? Is it only at the lower speeds under medium to heavy acceleration?

Test your injectors while you are there, makes it easier with the plenum off.

i haev the same problem by the sounds of it, i've got a solid driveshaft to put in the Z this spring when the snow is gone, hope that fixes it. i notice the shake the most between 45km/h and 80km/h .. it is less noticeable at higher speeds, you too?

that sounds pretty close to what im experiencing booster. once you get your new 1 piece shaft in let me know how it turns out. i might be needing one too.
