drive shaft removal

Hi need advice-

I have a 2002 with 2 and 4 wheel drive manual transfer. I am replacing u-joints and want to take off the front driveshaft but need to drive it until I get my parts in if possible.

I cannot see any reason that driving the truck without the front driveshaft can hurt, but want any experienced on this.
